Late-Night Food in Saigon: What Is Still Open at 10pm, Midnight and 4am
Where to eat right now, hour by hour, with every closing time we could check and the ones our sources disagree on.
Saigon eats late, but not everywhere. Before 22:00, most stalls are still cooking. Until midnight, try Ha Ton Quyen dumpling street or Hai Ky Mi Gia. After midnight, go to Vinh Khanh seafood street in former District 4. After 03:00, only a few 24-hour shops remain.

If you are hungry right now
The section you need depends on the hour, not on the dish you fancy. Saigon has a day shift and a night shift, and they barely overlap.
Before 22:00, you can eat almost anything. Bowls, rice plates, banh mi and snacks are all still on the fire. Between 22:00 and midnight, the choice narrows to a few streets and a handful of shops that keep long hours.
Every time and price here comes from our two checked fact sheets, dated September 2026. Where they disagree on a closing time, I give you both numbers.
One naming note before you start. The city abolished its districts on 1 July 2025, but locals and Google Maps still use the old names. I write former District 1, former District 4 and so on, because that is what your driver will understand.

After midnight I keep the phone in a front pocket and book the ride before leaving the table. A driver already waiting is one less conversation on the street.
How Saigon’s food clock works
Most street food in Saigon belongs to a time of day. Pho is a morning dish, and the famous pho shops sell out early. Rice plates and noodle soups then run from breakfast into the evening.
The big turn comes between 22:00 and 23:00. Most street-food streets and markets wind down in that window, Ho Thi Ky food alley and the Ben Thanh night market included.
Eat the day dishes before 22:00. After that, follow the seafood, the dumplings and the beer streets. After 03:00, stop looking for variety and look for a bowl of noodle soup.
Before 10pm: the last of the day shift
Huynh Hoa, the banh mi shop at 26-30-32 Le Thi Rieng in former District 1, runs 06:00 to 22:00. Its March 2026 menu lists the beef roll at 28,000 to 38,000 VND. The traditional and three-flavour rolls cost 61,000 to 78,000.
Com Tam Ba Ghien at 84 Dang Van Ngu, Phu Nhuan, also closes at 22:00. It opens at 07:00, has served broken rice since 1995 and is the only com tam with a Bib Gourmand. Plates cost 88,000 to 150,000 VND.
Banh Cuon Tay Ho 127, at 127 Dinh Tien Hoang in former District 1, keeps the same 07:00 to 22:00 hours. It is one of the new Bib Gourmand names for 2026. Plates cost 30,000 to 55,000 VND, and the shop is over 60 years old.
The ones that close well before 22:00
Some famous names close much earlier. Bun Bo Hue 14B at 14B Duong 46, former District 4, runs 06:30 to 20:30. A plain bowl is 50,000 VND and one with cha is 70,000. It is the only Bib Gourmand bun bo in the city.
Hu Tieu Hong Phat at 389-391 Vo Van Tan, former District 3, closes at 20:00. Banh Xeo 46A at 46A Dinh Cong Trang serves in two blocks, 10:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 21:00.
Xoi Che Bui Thi Xuan at 111 Bui Thi Xuan, former District 1, closes at 21:00. Kieu Bao, a bun thit nuong shop, lists 06:00 to 19:00 at its Nguyen Thi Minh Khai branch. Cheo Leo, the old cloth-filter coffee house in former District 3, closes around 18:00.
Banh Mi 37 Nguyen Trai is the tricky one. It is a cart in former District 1, selling grilled pork patty rolls for about 28,000 VND. Historically it ran 16:00 to 20:00, but our sheet flags those hours as disputed, so check before you go.
Night markets and food streets before 22:00
The Ben Thanh night market sets up from 18:00 on Phan Boi Chau and Phan Chu Trinh. It runs to about 22:00, later at weekends. Bun rieu and broken rice cost about 50,000 VND, summer rolls 30,000 and che 20,000 to 35,000.
Opening prices there run two to three times the local rate. Start your offer at 40 to 50 percent of the first price. Our night markets guide covers the stalls.
Su Van Hanh in former District 10 is liveliest from 17:30 to 22:00. It is the local banh xeo strip. It is also home to Bo Kho Ganh, a Bib Gourmand name, and to Sup Cua Hanh.
10pm to midnight: the second wind
This is the slot most visitors get wrong. It is 22:30 and the stall you saw at lunch is dark. Several solid options still run to 23:00 or later.
Pho Mien Ga Ky Dong at 14/5 Bis Ky Dong, former District 3, serves from 05:30 to 22:30. It has made chicken pho and mien ga for over 40 years. Bowls cost 55,000 to 100,000 VND.
Sup Cua Hanh at 549 Su Van Hanh, former District 10, also closes at 22:30. It opens at 06:15. A small bowl costs 22,000 VND and a large one 44,000.
Open until 23:00
Hai Ky Mi Gia at 349-351 Nguyen Trai, former District 5, serves Cholon braised duck noodles from 10:00 to 23:00. It has been there since 1976. A bowl was about 130,000 VND in March 2025, the latest price we have.
Dat Thanh at 277 Vo Van Tan, former District 3, makes bot chien from 14:00 to 23:00. It opened in 1985 and charges 20,000 to 40,000 VND.
For dessert, Hoa Hao at 117 Lo G Hoang Dieu, former District 4, sells banh flan from 10:00 to 23:00. A cup costs 5,000 to 10,000 VND.
Ho Thi Ky food alley in former District 10 is the open question here. One sheet says 15:00 to 23:00, the other says it winds down by 22:00 or 23:00. Plan for a close between 22:00 and 23:00.
The noodle house with two closing times
Hu Tieu Nam Vang Thanh Dat at 122D Cach Mang Thang Tam, former District 3, opens at 07:00. Our street-food sheet says it closes at 23:00, though it is also cited as 24-hour. The night sheet lists it as 24-hour.
I will not guess. Treat it as safe until 23:00 and possible after that. A bowl costs 55,000 to 115,000 VND.
Carts and alleys
From the evening, hu tieu go carts work the alleys of Ban Co, in former District 3, and of former District 4. The sellers clack wooden sticks as they go. A bowl costs 15,000 to 30,000 VND, and the carts run until about 01:00.
On Nguyen Thien Thuat, the Ban Co strip, a bun rieu stall at number 174 opens at 14:00. A banh cuon stall in alley 174/28 stays open until 00:30.
Midnight to 3am: seafood, dumplings, Bui Vien
After midnight, three areas carry the city: Vinh Khanh for seafood, Ha Ton Quyen for dumplings and Bui Vien for whatever the street is grilling.
Vinh Khanh seafood street
Vinh Khanh in former District 4 runs about 1 km from Ben Van Don to Ton Dan, with nearly 90 eateries. It gets busy from 17:00 and is at its best after 18:30.
Our street-food sheet says it stays open to about 02:00. The night sheet says about 16:00 to 01:00. Expect it to wind down between 01:00 and 02:00.
A plate of snails is about 100,000 VND, within a range of 50,000 to 180,000. Grilled crab claws cost 200,000 to 500,000. Beer runs 20,000 to 40,000, and most people spend 200,000 to 400,000 each. Bring cash.
Oc Oanh
Oc Oanh at 534 Vinh Khanh is the street’s best-known name and a Michelin Selected shop. It has been running for about 20 years. Plates cost 50,000 to 180,000 VND.
Its hours depend on who you ask. One sheet says around 13:00 to midnight, adding that some sources say 02:00 or 03:00. The other says 14:00 to between 02:00 and 03:00.
If you arrive after midnight, have a second choice on the same street.
Ha Ton Quyen dumpling street
Ha Ton Quyen in former District 11 is known as dumpling street. Ngoc Y at number 187 is open 11:00 to 01:00, with dishes at 30,000 to 60,000 VND. Thien Thien in alley 191 runs from about 12:30 to 01:30, at 60,000 to 105,000.
Bui Vien Walking Street
Bui Vien in former District 1 is 652 m long and has been a walking street since 20 August 2017. Vehicles are banned only on Saturday and Sunday, from 19:00 to 02:00. The noise carries on until about 02:00.
Food stalls stay open to 02:00 or 03:00 at weekends. Our sheet gives no weekday closing time for them, so I give none. Street food starts from 50,000 VND, and beer costs 20,000 to 50,000 a glass.
Crowds have been thinner after 23:00 since the 2025 raids on laughing-gas bars. Skip any bar where a hostess invites you in without a price list, because those bills reach USD 300 to 600. Our Bui Vien street guide covers the rest.
Late pho and late drinks
Pho Viet Nam is listed as open until 03:00. It is our one pho option that closes in the small hours rather than staying open all night. Our sheets give no address or price, so search the name on a map.
For a drink, two rooftops run late. Chill Skybar, on the 26th floor of AB Tower at 76A Le Lai, is open 17:30 to 01:00. It enforces its dress code after 21:00: no tank tops, sports shorts or flip-flops.
Boosh Rooftop at 164 Bui Vien is the budget choice, open 17:00 to 02:00. Eat at the street stalls below, then drink upstairs.
After 3am: the all-night shops
After 03:00, the list gets short. Our night sheet names four 24-hour places: Pho Ha, Pho Quynh, Hu Tieu Nam Vang Thanh Dat and Lua Dai Viet. Lua Dai Viet is listed as 24/7.
Pho Ha and Pho Quynh are 24-hour pho shops. Our sheets give no address or price for either, and I will not invent them. Search the exact name on Grab or Google Maps and check the latest photos.
Thanh Dat is the only one with an address on our sheets, but one of them says it closes at 23:00. At 04:00, have a backup ready.
When the day shift starts again
Pho Mien Ga Ky Dong reopens at 05:30. Huynh Hoa and the Tien Phat dim sum house at 18 Ky Hoa, former District 5, open at 06:00, Cheo Leo around then. Sup Cua Hanh follows at 06:15.
Bun Bo Hue 14B and Co Ba Vung Tau open at 06:30. The Ban Co market alleys on Nguyen Thien Thuat serve hu tieu and com tam from early morning.
If you hold out until breakfast, read our best pho in Saigon guide. Pho Minh at 63/6 Pasteur sells out by 10:00, so dawn puts you there in time.

Where the sources disagree
Five places on this page have hours that are ranges, not single numbers. That is deliberate. Our two fact sheets disagree on them, and I would rather show you the disagreement than pick a winner.
- Oc Oanh: closes between midnight and 03:00, and opens at 13:00 or 14:00.
- Vinh Khanh seafood street: winds down between 01:00 and 02:00.
- Ho Thi Ky food alley: closes between 22:00 and 23:00.
- Hu Tieu Nam Vang Thanh Dat: closes at 23:00, or stays open 24 hours.
- Banh Mi 37 Nguyen Trai: historically 16:00 to 20:00, now flagged as disputed.
In each case, plan around the earlier time. If the later one turns out to be true, you have lost nothing.
Staying safe and getting home
Late-night eating in Saigon is mostly about traffic and pockets, not food. Motorbike drive-by snatching of phones and bags is the number one crime against tourists. Bui Vien and the streets around Ben Thanh are the hotspots.
Wear a cross-body bag on the side away from the road. Do not hold your phone at the kerb or on a street-facing cafe table.
After 23:00, stick to lit main avenues. Avoid unlit park benches and the stretches under bridges. If your stop is down a dark alley, ride to the door.
For rides, use Grab or Xanh SM, or the Vinasun and Mai Linh taxi companies. Rigged street-taxi meters can run three to five times the fare. If a xe om driver says 100, they may mean US dollars.
The metro will not get you home late. Line 1 ran 05:00 to 22:00 Monday to Thursday and 05:00 to 23:00 Friday to Sunday in 2026. Our sheet flags those hours for checking after 16 August 2026.
Food safety after dark
Late at night, the main risk is food that has sat out. Pick stalls with high turnover, where food is cooked to order and served hot. Ingredients should be covered, and money and food should be handled separately.
Skip pre-cooked dishes that have been sitting on the counter. Tube ice, the factory-bagged kind with a hole in the middle, is safe. Avoid hand-chipped block ice, which is meant for chilling beer and seafood.
Our guide on whether street food is safe in Vietnam goes further. The city also plans surprise inspections in 2026, with a public blacklist of vendors who break the rules.
What a late night costs
Most street dishes in Saigon cost 25,000 to 80,000 VND. Famous shops and seafood start at 100,000. A full street-food night runs 180,000 to 350,000 per person, and a snail dinner 200,000 to 400,000.
Carry small notes. Our sheets mark Vinh Khanh and Ho Thi Ky as cash only. At Chill Skybar, add 5 percent service and 10 percent VAT to the menu price. Happy-hour cocktails there cost 88,000 from 17:30 to 21:00.
Our night tour takes care of the route. For the wider picture of the city after dark, see our Ho Chi Minh City at night guide. For daytime dishes, start with our Saigon street food guide.
