About Miss Saigon Tours

We are a small team of Vietnamese women from Ho Chi Minh City who show visitors our city from the back of a motorbike. Every guide is also your driver. This page explains who we are, how a pickup works, how we keep you safe, and what we do not do.

Who we are

Miss Saigon Tours runs motorbike tours of Ho Chi Minh City. Every guide is a Vietnamese woman from the city, and every guide is also the driver. You sit behind her as a passenger, she rides, she explains.

We started in 2019.

Three food tours, including the Street Food Tour, and four city rides, including the City Tour. All six are on our tours page.

Many of our guests have never sat on a scooter. That is fine: you never drive.

How a pickup works

  1. 1
    Booking

    You send a request

Through the form on this site or on WhatsApp. Tell us your date, hotel and number of riders. We reply within 2 hours.

  2. 2
    The day before

    Your guide messages you

She sends her name, her photo and a picture of her bike, so you recognise her in the lobby.

  3. 3
    Pickup

She meets you at your hotel

Helmet fitting first, then a two-minute briefing on how to sit, where to hold, and what to do with your bag.

  4. 4
    On the road

    You ride pillion

On the City Tour, about 25 minutes of the 4 hours are spent on the bike. The rest is on foot, at your pace.

  5. 5
    The end

    Drop-off

Back at your hotel, or at a lunch or dinner spot if you prefer. Your photos arrive on WhatsApp.

Pickup is included for hotels in Districts 1, 2 and 3 only. Not sure where your hotel falls? Our guide to Ho Chi Minh City districts maps the old names onto the new wards.

Safety, explained plainly

Motorbikes are how this city moves, and they carry real risk. Nationwide, motorcycles are involved in more than 90% of traffic deaths. Here is what safety means on our bikes.

What we doWhy it matters
A helmet for every rider, cleaned after every tourHelmets are legally required for driver and passenger. Riding without one, or with the strap open, costs 400,000 to 600,000 VND (about $15 to $23) since January 2025.
Child-size helmets, kids from 6 with a parentThe law fines the driver when a passenger aged 6 or over rides without a helmet. A loose adult helmet on a child protects very little.
You ride as a passenger, never as the driverThe UK government calls motorbike travel in Vietnam much riskier than at home.
A bag briefing before the first stopBag and phone snatching from passing bikes is the most common crime against visitors. Wear a cross-body bag on the side away from traffic.
Your guide rides soberVietnam has a zero alcohol limit for every driver since 1 January 2020.

Safety also means knowing the city. Our honest guide to safety in Ho Chi Minh City covers scams, taxis, health and emergency numbers.

A local guide or a driver for hire

You can book a ride-hailing motorbike to any address in the city. What you get with us is different: the person driving is the person explaining, and she grew up here.

At the War Remnants Museum, for example, we skip the graphic upstairs galleries with children under about 12.

Tell us your date, hotel, number of riders, children's ages and any dietary needs.

If you are planning the rest of your trip, our Ho Chi Minh City travel tips cover SIM cards, cash machines, tipping and the metro.

Clara Truong
Guide, Miss Saigon Tours

Clara grew up just outside Saigon and moved to the city five years ago to study. She has been riding its streets ever since. Most evenings you’ll find her leading our night rides, usually with a bowl of snails waiting at the end. Everything in this guide is what she tells her own guests before the first stop.
