A Guide Who Lived the History

A Saigonese woman, fluent English, 500+ tours, family stories from Tet 1968.

Three Districts, Not One

The French quarter is walkable; Cholon and District 3 are not. A scooter does all three before lunch.

Built for Families

Kids ride with a parent, the museum's hard rooms are optional, shaded stops in the hottest hour.

8 Landmarks, 4 Hours, One Ride

Morning order shown; afternoons run in reverse.

  1. 1
    8:30 AM

    Hotel pickup, District 1, 2 or 3

Helmet fitting, a two-minute briefing, and the first ride through morning traffic at 30 km/h.

  2. 2
    8:45 AM

    Independence Palace

Where a tank crashed the gates on 30 April 1975. Ticket included. We go to the basement war room and the rooftop with the F-5E bombing plaque, the rooms most visitors skip.

  3. 3
    9:40 AM

Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office

Under restoration since 2017, new gold crosses fitted March 2026, interior mass-only. The 1891 post office is open: see the hand-painted 1892 map and post a card home (15,000 to 25,000 VND).

  4. 4
    10:10 AM

    Book Street and Nguyen Hue

A shaded lane of bookshops, then the 670 m walking boulevard to City Hall. Flat, stroller-friendly; the coffee stop is here, inside a historic hidden bunker.

  5. 5
    10:40 AM

    War Remnants Museum

Ticket included (20,000 VND for ages 6 to 16, free under 6). Aircraft yard first, the Agent Orange gallery last and only if you want it. Your guide waits outside with anyone who prefers to.

  6. 6
    11:25 AM

Thich Quang Duc memorial and Turtle Lake

Five minutes into District 3: the bronze at the corner where the monk self-immolated in 1963, then Turtle Lake, repainted for Tet 2026.

  7. 7
    11:50 AM

Cholon: Thien Hau Temple and Binh Tay Market

Thien Hau (1760) hangs incense coils that burn for weeks. Binh Tay (1930, 2,300 stalls) is where the city's shops buy wholesale.

  8. 8
    12:30 PM

Drop-off at your hotel, or at lunch

Ask to be dropped at a cơm tấm or phở shop your guide rates. Lunch is on you, 50,000 to 90,000 VND.

Since 1 July 2025 the city has no districts on paper; addresses use wards. Every hotel and taxi still says District 1, 3 and 5, and so do we.
